Guilsfield is just two miles from the Offa's Dyke Trail and the market town of Welshpool. It is near historic Chester, closer still to the Tudor/Jacobean town of Shrewsbury (birthplace of Charles Darwin), the ancient County Town of Montgomery with its dramatic ruined castle and the Welsh market towns of Newtown and Llanidloes.

Pleasant drives through beautiful scenery take you to the canoeing championship town of Llangollen, the book town of Hay-on-Wye, the Red Kite feeding stations of Rhayader and Machynlleth and the Italianate village of Portmeirion near the Snowdonia National Park.
